E-CLUB BULLETIN @ 14 September 2007

Our September physical meeting was robust and rowdy to say the least. For those who did not join us that evening, they certainly missed something!

Dr Cassey Chua, our Guest Speaker, was eloquent. We were mesmerized by his talk. He used hypnosis interchangeably with hypnotherapy. So, you can say that he is a master of his craft.

President Edmund Chew volunteered to be his guinea pig... and underwent a lie-detector demonstration. Exercising The 4-Way Test, he passed the examination with flying colours!

If you have sleeping problems, you can overcome it as easy as counting from one to five with a squeeze ball.  Want to know more...?? Ask those who came!!

This evening, PE Susan Wong is leading an excursion to the Tiger Brewery for beer fellowship. For those who can hold their liquor, you certainly should not miss the sampling of a mixed variety of beer -- as many as the brewery produces!

Tomorrow, Rotary E-Club of 3310, in partnership with Singapore Polytechnic and Glaucoma Society (Singapore), is providing FREE Eye Screening and Talks (in Chinese and English) for Senior Citizens (Age 45 and above) at Rotary Family Service Centre, Clementi. The Guest of Honour is PDG Dr Robert Loh, an eye specialist. He has volunteered to undertake a few eye screenings himself.

Rotary Charity Ball @ Shangri-la Hotel is next Friday on 21 September. The Guest of Honour is HE Mr S R Nathan, President of the Republic of Singapore. Our target is to raise S$300K to fund Rotary Avoidable Blindness programmes on a more sustainable basis.

An 18-member delegation leaves for Brookside, Philippines, on 23 September, to do a community service project. The team comprising of President Edmund, IPP Shirin Ghadiali, 2 Teacher Advisors and 14 ITE College East Interactors are there for a week. E-Club 3310 has pledged US$4K to build and equip the Rotary Children Centre which shall be used as a centre of activities (a "half way house") for preschool children and mothers.

Shine On, Singapore Awards for the “Unsung Heroes” is a District Vocational Service Award. DG Chris Chen has assigned the project to our E-Club 3310. It shall be formally launched on 1 October being Vocational Service Month. Rtn Tan May Yan has agreed to be the Project Chairperson.

In the meantime, we are busy generating interest to charter the first E-Rotaract Club outside the States! Several youth leaders have been identified. They are working toward a charter before DG's official visit to our Club next month.

Reason: When I pressed "add", I got page not available. So, I am sent again thinking that it did not go through....   :-(

Shirin, I tried sending you a "private message". Were you able to get it? Just experiementing...

In my message, I asked you to try postings to get a feel of this new web forum etc...

Don't worry if you press "add" at the bottom. It will show "Page no found"... The posting actually went through...

John, can you rectify this problem? Thanks!
