Ambitious fundraising project to support Rotary’s signature project, PolioPlus. With your help, we can Make History Today and End Polio Now!
MOUNT EVEREST CLIMB 2018
The Mount Everest Climb 2018 will inspire meaningful achievements that will leave lasting imprints on the lives of polio victims and their families and many children who will be walking because they were immunized against polio.
The expedition will see a team of 10 intrepid volunteers taking on the harsh environments of Mount Everest and trek to Everest Base Camp.
The team will begin their hazardous journey by flying into Lukla (2,860 meters above sea level), the world’s most dangerous airstrip. From Lukla, they will start their climb to Everest Base Camp (5,364 meters above sea level).
To support the fundraising project and help make the world polio-free, we hope you will support us with donations of US$10 per meter of the climb.
The campaign will run between now and 12 November 2018, with the actual expedition occurring between 26 October and 7 November 2018.
All expedition expenses are self-funded. Our generous donors, sponsors, and volunteers will provide all other resources needed for this community initiative.
We will donate all proceeds to the PolioPlus Fund of The Rotary Foundation. Your donations will help The Rotary Foundation and its partners in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) reach more children with the polio vaccine.
Thanks to two-to-one matching by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, your contributions will be tripled, getting us even closer to a polio-free world.
We seek your generous support and donations as we ascend to Everest Base Camp. Together, let us help Make History Today! Let us End Polio Now for a polio-free world!
