Dear Friends of Rotary and Rotarians,
On behalf of RC EClub of 3310, I would like to wish all our donors, volunteers, medical staff & doctors, Friends of Rotary and Rotarians A Blessed Happy New Year 2019.
Amazing, how time passed like a “Blitzkrieg” and six months had passed since our new term began in July 2018 We are exhilarated, grateful and thankful for a year of wonderful activities.
After our successful 1,032 cataract eye surgeries in Nepal ; we did another 600 cataract eye surgeries under Global Grant GG1860259 in 6 different locations. They were conducted namely in Indramayu, Soreang, Ciamis , Subang ,Tasikmalaya and Puskemas Tarogong Garut for Gift Of Sight Indonesia 2018. We are now working on the funding arrangements for another 1000+ eye surgeries for our Gift Of Sight 2019 project .
The first six months of the term was focusing on membership drive and building quality & sustainable programs. We had structure to develop and build our club activities based on these four major programs; mainly Prevention Blindness, Youth Leadership Development, Happy Community and Water & Sanitation.
A summary of key milestones and achievements from July to Dec 2018 are as follows:
I. Prevention Blindness Program
– Completed 600 cataract eye surgeries under Global Grant GG1860259 for Gift of Sight Indonesia 2018.
– Rotary Eye Screening for Seniors @ Bishan North CC on 19th Aug 2018 by RC EClub of 3310 and RCSH for 120 senior citizens.
– Participated in Rotary Joint Districts 3310 & 3300 Seeing Eye to Eye Conference in Penang on 13th Oct 2018.
– CP BS Chew and Team are working out the funding program for another 1,000+ cataract eye surgeries for Gift Of Sight Indonesia 2019.
II. Youth Leadership Program
A. ITE College East Rotaractors
-Rotarian Gracy Yap , AG Shirin & CP BS Chew witnessed the 3rd ITE College East Rotaract Club Installation.
-ITE College East Community Outreach Program hosted by our sister club RC of Loyola Heights on 17th to 25th Sept 2018.
-A health screening for 80 indigent residents were done in Zumba.
-3 houses were painted under RCLH Housing Project in Betis, Guagua, Pampanga by ITE College East Rotaractors.
-ITE College Rotaractors participated in community service project at Emmaus Old Folks Home, Malolos Bulacan.
B. Conducted a 1Day Communication & Public Speaking Workshop at ITENAS@ Bandung for 100 university students.
III. Happy Community Program
-Conducted the 8!session Action for Happiness Program(3rd Batch) successfully by OC, PP Vicky Soo & Facilitator, IPP Ching Kwock Wing.
-RC EClub Of 3310 participated the First Mental Wellness Program through Rummikub Competition @Potong Pasir Community Center.
-RC EClub of 3310 sponsored children to attend the Alice In Wonderland , a ballet production by JDA on 8th Dec 2018.
-PP Vicky Soo had organized our first charity fundraising film premiere for our signature project, My Wish . The project to aim to grant a dying person’s personal Wish with the family .
IV. Water & Sanitation Program
-We are still in discussion with RCKC to participate in Water & Sanitation project in the near future.
V. Other Projects & Visits
– Jointly organized 1st District 3310 Family Fellowship@ BigStreet with RCSH & RC Shenton.
– RC EClub of 3310 participated with RCSE for a day of joy, sharing and fellowship to bring Christmas cheer to residents @ Sri Narayana Mission.
– Participated in the District 3310 Inter Club Bowling held at SRC Esplande Bowl.
– Rotary Melaka Bonding & Fellowship was a great success under the leadership of OC , Rotarian Joyce Lau.
– Participated Joint Fellowship &Christmas Party 2018 together with guest PP John Soe & Family.
– Organized District 3320 Makan. & Christmas Fellowship@Newton Circus on 23rd Dec 2018.
RC EClub of 3310 members must stay focus, united and cohesive; with active participation and continue to build our quality and sustainable programs.
With encouragement and engagement, our membership has increase to 39 Rotarians and 4 Honorary Members.
We need to uphold our Motto : We Believe, We Act and We Live As TRUE ROTARIANS.
Let’s work together closely as a TEAM to serve the community and Be An Inspiration !!!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the BOD and CLP Chairs 2018/2019 and all members for your selfless contributions and commitments; and active participation in various projects in order to continue to grow and becoming a Dynamic & Vibrant club.
