President’s Message for August 2024

Dear fellow Rotarians,

I am pleased to share with you the highlights from our recent club activities in July.

Our first club meeting had an impressive turnout, demonstrating the strong dedication of our members. We discussed important projects, strategies, goals, and fundraising plans, with a focus on supporting Project Ray of Hope and Rotary Moments with Gracehaven Home this year.

I had the privilege of visiting Spectra Secondary School, where we provide support, and enjoyed a delicious appreciation lunch with the Principal, Vice-Principals, teachers, and students. It was inspiring to hear the Principal’s message of empowerment and encouragement for the students.

In August, we shall be conducting eye screenings for 25 children identified by the school, thanks to the leadership of our dedicated club members and the expertise of Rotarian Dr. Doris Ang.

We also held a successful new member orientation session in July, thanks to the outstanding work of Community Service Director Cindy Yen. We look forward to inducting new members in the coming months, which is an exciting opportunity for our club to grow.

Apart from our monthly meeting, we also had a fellowship dinner invited by PDG and Honorary Member Dr. David Tong and spouse Irene to their house for a wonderful time of friendship and connections.

Our August physical meeting shall feature Vocational speakers from our club, including Lisa-Marie Schaefer and yours truly. I invite you all to join us for what promises to be an engaging and informative meeting.

Our monthly fellowship is on 31 August for a fireside chat invited by Rotarian Susan Wong at her home. I look forward to having you all there.
