Dear Fellow Rotarians,
As we journey through the month of August, I am delighted to reflect on the remarkable activities and achievements that have defined our club in recent weeks.
I am proud to share that Rtn Dr Doris Ang, supported by club members, conducted eye screenings for the children at Spectra Secondary School. 17 children, identified as needing prescriptions with special lenses, shall receive the necessary support tailored to their individual needs.
I would like to extend special recognition to PP Richard Ong for his outstanding leadership in the HappyMeals project; providing 100 meals to the elderly in Waterloo Street and Chinatown on a weekly basis.
Our commitment to supporting Gracehaven Home remains steadfast, with regular special meals provided to the children once a month. We are also actively engaged in developing additional projects and initiatives to further our impact.
I am delighted to announce the induction of our newest member, Faith Hung, whose commitment to service is sure to enrich the fabric of our club. In addition, our second Board of Directors meeting proved to be a fruitful gathering, paving the way for a year filled with success and growth.
A commendable participation of our club at the Rotary Flag Day, with members generously contributing funds and supporting fundraising efforts, reflects the true spirit of service that defines us.
A heartfelt thank you to Rtn Eddie Chua, our dedicated Youth Service Director, for coordinating our involvement at NTU Career Internship Fair, where our members shared the essence of Rotary and inspired students with our impactful work; truly a part of Vocational Service.
In our ongoing commitment to enhancing the Rotary experience and fostering closer fellowship, we have introduced the Buddy Support System, creating smaller groups to facilitate faster learning about Rotary and provide enhanced opportunities for the development of stronger friendships.
Our recent ‘Fireside’ Fellowship at Rtn Susan Wong’s house was a delightful occasion, filled with engaging conversations and camaraderie that further strengthened our bonds and underscored our dedication to service.
Looking ahead to September, we eagerly anticipate welcoming new members to our club and are excited to have Rtn Foo Lai Chan to share her passion for agriculture. Let us embrace these opportunities for growth, service, and fellowship as we continue to make positive impacts in our community and beyond.
